Facing a specific problem, like long connection queues or surging data centre requests? The challenge briefs show you where to start.

⚡️ The payoffs: Modern grids integrate more domestic clean energy, reduce the dependence on imported fuels, bring fair bills to households and industry, and secure local jobs.

The Grid Policy Toolkit is developed by Agora Energiewende, Agora Industry, CLASP, GBPN, ICCT, ITDP and RAP.
Working across power, industry, transport and buildings, these organisations are members of the Crux Alliance.

💡 That’s why we have published the Grid Policy Toolkit – a step-by-step guide to support grid modernisation. It takes a cross-sectoral approach: power, industry, transport and buildings all depend on grids, and all can offer flexibility that makes grids cheaper to build and run.

🔎 The toolkit informs policymakers and regulators and others who work on grids, from advisers to civil society organisations, researchers and industry. It maps the full policy agenda:

➡️ four domains: planning, deployment, operation and enablement
➡️ nine policy objectives on grid modernisation
➡️ 27 recommendations, illustrated with good practices from around the world 2/x

🥁 NEW resource: COP31 is around the corner – and one of the most anticipated outcomes is an agreement on a global electrification target. Strong and modern grids will determine whether this goal can be met.

🔌Today, aging grids are becoming a bottleneck. This risks long waiting times for connections of industries, stalling renewable projects and higher bills for consumers. 1/x
